Diamond Certification
Every center stone, independently graded
Our lab grown diamonds 1 carat and above come with an IGI report, an independent grading certificate from the International Gemological Institute, one of the world's major diamond labs. We use IGI as our certification standard.
What the report tells you
An IGI report documents the stone on the 4Cs and more:
- Report number: a unique ID you can look up on IGI's website
- Shape & measurements: the cut and exact proportions
- Carat weight: the precise size
- Color: on the D–Z scale (or the fancy-color grade, for colored diamonds)
- Clarity: how free the stone is of inclusions
- Cut: how well it's proportioned and finished
For colored diamonds, the report also states the color grade (for example, Fancy Intense Pink), which is the single most important factor in a fancy-color stone.
How to verify your diamond
Each certified stone carries a laser inscription on its girdle matching the report number. You can enter that number on IGI's website to confirm the grading yourself: independent proof that the diamond you received is the one described.
A note on smaller stones and bands
IGI reports are issued for center stones 1 carat and above. Pieces with a sub-1-carat center, plain gold bands, and accent (melee) diamonds aren't individually certified, which is standard across the industry. The 4Cs we list for every stone come from our supplier's grading.
Lab grown, clearly stated
Our diamonds are lab grown, and the IGI report identifies them as such. We always disclose this. A lab grown diamond is a real diamond, and there's no reason to be coy about how it was made.
