An octagon emerald cut takes the classic step cut and trims the corners, giving the stone an eight-sided outline with a clear Art Deco flavor. It's the shape you see in vintage rings from the 1920s and 30s, and it reads more distinctive than a standard rectangle without losing the calm, architectural look of a step cut.
Like any emerald-style cut, it hides nothing. The long open facets act as windows into the stone, so color and clarity carry the look. Every center is graded E color (colorless) and VS clarity, exactly the range where a step cut stays clean and icy rather than showing tint or inclusions.
